Document Requirements

A PTV authorisation is to operate a vehicle to provide a passenger transport service. You must submit a Passenger Transport Vehicle (PTV) authorisation in an On-demand Charter vehicle (OD-C). Please head to the WA Department of Transport for more information about the PTV-A.

Motor Injury Insurance is an expanded insurance cover that provides treatment, care and support if you are catastrophically injured in a vehicle crash, irrespective of whether another driver is at fault. You must ensure that your vehicle has the correct class of MII recorded against its registration (class 3(f)).

You will need to declare that your vehicle is insured. In addition, your vehicle must have current third-party damage or comprehensive insurance cover, on which you should be listed as an insured driver.

Signage Requirements

Western Australia
The sticker must be displayed on the vehicle’s rear window on the passenger’s side. If this is not practical, the sticker must be displayed in a position on the car visible from the vehicle’s rear while operating.

After your registration is approved, you will receive 2 x self-adhesive Turvy Stickers by post. Most states and territories’ regulations require that you display signs indicating that the vehicle is being used to provide passenger services.
